Dear Delta and Southwest,
Today you take my dear husband down to Phoenix for his final that the mean professor would not let him take early, even though he has the highest grade in the class and had booked this trip prior to the semester starting. He will travel from wintery Gettysburg to the Baltimore airport, make a stop in Atlanta and then land in our sunny AZ. From there he’ll rent a car, drive the 45 minutes to the school, take his 30 minute final and then return to the airport, only to hop on another 5 hour flight.
According to Mapquest, he will 2225.14 miles from me. The furthest away we have ever been apart. I feel spoiled by having my husband within 50 miles of me at all times but truth be told, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hear stories of loved ones who travel, often gone for extended periods of time. My heart goes out to them because when Dan leaves, I feel like a part of me is missing. Today, I feel as if a part of me was across the country.
So please, dear Delta and Southwest, please take care of my husband. Make sure he is comfortable during his long flights and most importantly, make sure he is safe. Because whether you know it or not, you have my husband on board your airplanes, as well as my heart.
With Gratitude,
The Worrying Wife
